I received a gold Phantasmal Armor from a win in the Hall of Heroes, though I also have not seen them drop from monsters anywhere.

Also another note... my friend had a Glob of Ectoplasm drop from a chest back somewhere in Ascalon. Don't remember exactly where it was, but there is a chest like this back near the beginning of the game. (Or at least there used to be.)

Actually, the gruesome sternum also drop in Dragon's gullet ( 2 map north of Nolani Academy) of the monster named Abomination(look like flesh golem). Get 9 of them and you can exchange them for a bag( yes a bag!) to a collector in the same zone.

Anyway, I beleive moste of these "strange" item are probably drop of mob in Explorable Area.

Don't turn this into another riverside. Comparing this to the riverside chest, I'd say it is much much harder to say alive if you are running solo. But the occasional gold item from this make it worthwhile.

edit: got my own Phantasmal Armor today from the chests. Pretty cool stuff. The fact that its art is actually consistent with a salvage, though, makes me wonder if this might be found in-game. I've noticed that the trend is any item I've never even heard of usually has some basic/incorrect art. Like the Jade Gorget being a salvage that looks like a lodestone, or the Sternum being a [blank item type] that looks like bones. Of course, it's hard to label it a trend when there are only two examples

I'm rather confused as to which chests drop strange things, I've opened several I've found and gotten crappy 10-18 staffs all of the time.

Oh, and just for kicks, there is a 5th chest not more then 100 feet away that drops normal stuff, but still, its worth stopping for just for the chance of a good drop, such as coins.

This isn't the most profitable chest run ever, but it sure is fun!
